CONWAY - Gov. Mike Beebe said Tuesday that he would ask the Legislature to keep cutting the sales tax on groceries next year, while Republican rival Jim Keet accused the Democrat during their debate of allowing state government to grow too much.

Beebe and Keet disagreed on issues from the size of state government to Arkansas' role in immigration policy in their first and only debate. The hour-long event also featured Green Party nominee Jim Lendall.
